Applications: MOLSUL® PRE is a finely powdered, high-purity form of elemental sulphur used mainly as an active ingredient in topical dermatological formulations. It include creams, ointments, lotions, gels, suspensions and medicated soaps. It is commonly used in formulations for acne, seborrhoeic dermatitis and superficial fungal infections. It has keratolytic properties, helping remove dead skin cells and excess keratin from the skin.

(A) It burns with a blue flame, emitting sulfur dioxide which changes the colour of moistened blue litmus paper to red.
(B) The solution gives reaction of sulfates.
3 Solubility It is practically insoluble in water, soluble in carbon disulfide, slightly soluble in vegetable oils.
4 Melting Point About 120 °C.
5 Appearance of solution Solution S is colourless
6 Odour It has no perceptible odour of hydrogen sulfide.
7 Acidity or alkalinity The solution is colourless, red & orange-red.
8 Chlorides Not more than 100 ppm.
9 Sulfates Not more than 100 ppm.
10 Sulfides After 1 min any colour in the solution is not more intense than that in a reference solution prepared at the same time using 1 mL of lead standard solution (10 ppm Pb).
11 Sulfated ash Not more than 0.2%.
12 Assay Not less than 99.0% to not more than 101.0%.

PACKAGING

MOLSUL® PRE is packed in HDPE bag or HDPE drum with double PE liners inside having bar-coded label and tamper-evident seal.

SHELF LIFE, STORAGE AND PACKING

The shelf life is 5 years. Protected from light.
